PERIOD PRIDE: DIGNITY IN EVERY CYCLE

Menstruation is natural — not shameful, though this is not the case for many girls in underserved communities due to limited access to affordable sanitary products and the unsustainability of periodic single pad donations. As a result, many girls adopt unsafe practices. PERIOD PRIDE by BEGARH is a community-driven reusable menstrual pad initiative that combines menstrual health education with practical skills training. We aim to: • Educate adolescent girls about proper menstrual hygiene care • Provide access to sanitary pads • Train them how to make reusable pads so they can manage their periods with confidence and dignity • Provide care kits for effective maintenance of reusable pads Target: 800 girls in Buea-Town, Mile 16, Muea, Kombo, Kumba, Mamfe, Limbe, and Likomba.
